Welcome to our three day, weekend course on photography, for 2013. £395 inc. B&B and Tour. For budding beginners and intermediate photographers wishing to improve on their skills.

Every month this year till October, pixsellpix will be running weekend courses on photography, in the beautiful landscapes of the English Lakes. Join our tour Director with 30 years experience to discover the inspiring scenary of the Lakes and explore new photographic skills. An informal arrival meeting on each Friday morning at the Hotel will start the course in a relaxed manner.

Learning to get the best images from your camera with hands-on tuition, on location, is undoubtedly the best way, far more inspiring than any college classroom. You learn fast, plus you put your new skills into practise immediately, on location, in the company of like minded people sharing your enthusiasm.

Purpose of this course on Photography

 The aim of this course on photography, is to use the tour Directors knowledge of the Lake District, to get you in the best locations quickly and comfortably. Once on location, you will get to learn how to master your camera and return with impressive images. Your tour Director, has plenty of experience in photography and will always be on hand with professional, practical advice. When you have completed this course on photography, your new skills will be refined over the years with continued support from pixsellpix for your photography to progress in a creative manner.

Recommended equipment for this course on Photography

Preferably a digital or film SLR (medium format is good). A good quality mirrorless camera or a Bridge camera. Tripod, polarisng filter, some ND filters and a ND grad filter.

This secretive, charming location will be revealed on confirmation of your booking. Time of arrival, pickups to and from travel connections will all be agreed and confirmed via email.

Overlooking the Dudden valley, close to Barrow and Ulverston, the Hotel is a traditional Cumbrian venue that caters for all, whether you are visiting the area on business or to see the natural beauty of the Lake District. We aim to make sure your stay is enjoyable and comfortable and will assist with any special requests you have.

Located in an amazing place overlooking the estuary, couldn’t be in a better place for photography with only a short walk to the sands.

Very reasonably priced traditional Cumbrian evening meals are served 5.30-9.30pm Weekly specials are available alongside the full menu. Our friendly staff will ensure that your visit is an enjoyable one, whether you are relaxing in the pleasurable surroundings of our dining area or having a drink in our licensed bar.

During this course on photography, you will have three days to relax and really focus on improving your photography skills, while enjoying all the comforts of a fantastic Hotel at the start and finish of each day.

Itinerary

After enjoying your hearty Cumbrian breakfast, you will be picked up from the Hotel to start the course on photography. Each day, the Tour Director will take you in comfort to the best places in Cumbria, to include Piel Island, the only Island to host it’s own King, Ulverston, birthplace of Stan Laurel, Keswick, Derwentwater, Coniston (made famous by Bluebird’s waterspeed record’s and tragedy). Beatrix Potter’s home, Hilltop Farm (Miss Potter film is a must to watch, after you’ve booked this course). Castlerigg Stone Circles, Aira force and much, much more.

If you wait for the weather, you will wait forever.

This is where the experience of our tour Director comes in, to evaluate the optimum weather conditions for each day and maximise the best itenary for photographic opportunities. The weather in Cumbria (due to it’s hilly countrside) can change quickly, making for some dramatic scenary. However, 30 years experience of the area will determine Plan “B” and “C” to ensure you have the best of the Lake district on the day.

Simply contact the tour director with the dates you wish to join and we will tell you if there is a workshop on this date and space available, or advise of other available dates.

Upon confirmation that you would like to join our course on photography, your name will be added to the list for the date required. You do not need to pay anything at this stage. Once the minimum number of people is reached then you will be contacted with the details and upon confirmation that you wish to join, you will be invoiced for the full amount.

Payment:

Once a booking is agreed you will be sent an invoice for payment, which must be paid at least one month before the workshop date, unless otherwise agreed or booking was made closer to the date. Secure payment can be made by bank transfer, or paypal.

Cancellations:

If your course on photography is cancelled for any reason by pixsellpix.com, then a full refund will be given, or you will have the chance to join another group. Should you cancel for any reason after payment has been made then a full refund will be given up to two weeks before the workshop date, but after that a full refund will only be given if I have a minimum of 10 people on the date of your booking.

What you need to do:

You will need to arrange your own flights (if necessary) or transportation. If needed, I can give you information on transport to and from places. Secure pickup points will be from Ulverston or Barrow-in-Furness Cumbria.

Accommodation

Each course on photography price is per person, generally based on twin bedroom occupancy. In some locations participants may occupy larger rooms/suites/apartments for more than two persons. In most tours there is a limited number of single-occupancy rooms available, for those paying the extra supplement. Singles supplement will only be charged for those requiring single-occupancy rooms. Daily breakfast will be provided at the hotel.

Prices

Our prices include only what is listed in programmes and do not include airfares or other transportation costs to, from and around England. The Mini-bus transport during the course IS included

Reservations and Deposit

To keep our tours a top-quality experience we recommend you reserve early to avoid disappointment. A deposit of 10% of the final price needs to be made within 10 days. After confirmation of your booking, an invoice will be sent for 10% of the final price, with the outstanding amount payable 30 days before the start date of the course

Final Payment

Final payment is due 30 days before the tour begins. If we do not receive final payment in the designated period, we assume your booked trip is cancelled.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

There will not be refunds for cancellations received within 14 days of tour begin.
Cancellations must be made in writing to pixsellpix@hotmail.co.uk

Baggage

Two pieces of baggage not exceeding 20 kgs (44 lbs) per person is allowed. Any loss or damage to baggage (or) belonging are not responsible to the company. However, the company will assist for claims.

Insurance

All clients are responsible for their own travel insurance.
